Humanitarian Initiative in Senegal

As usual, true to its spirit of solidarity and compassion, the Zawiyah Karkariya, with its long breath, which it derives from the Light and the Mercy of God, and with which it stood out during the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to shine through promoting African synergy and cooperation. After Togo, Cameroon, the Philippines, and other countries, to which its cultural and educational projects reached, the Zawiyah, through the humanitarian work of its fuqara, takes us today to the Republic of Senegal.

The two villages of TANGUIS and SIIW near the city of NGUEKOKH witnessed today (28.05.2020) a rare moment of happiness that overwhelmed their inhabitants, amid the distribution of food supplies, to the point that women danced in joy because they have not had rice for a long time. The villagers warmly thanked the disciples of the Zawiyah present in Senegal, on behalf of their sheikh, Sidi Mohamed Fawzi Karakri QS. One of the villages’ chiefs said in a speech he delivered on this occasion: "We are very happy with your presence and donations, and we are very excited to welcome the Zawiyah Karkariya in our village. We thank you and thank Sheikh Mohamed Fawzi Karakri, and we pray that the Almighty grants you whatever your desire and rewards you with the infinite blessings of our Prophet Muhammad PBUH. You have found us in a very difficult time and we will never thank you enough, and we hope you continue to help us."

This beautiful initiative of the Zawiyah Karkariya comes as a practical response to the latest talks His Majesty King Mohamed VI, may God bless Him and grant Him victory, had with His Excellency Mr. Alassan Draman Ouattara, President of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, and His Excellency Mr. Maki Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, which revolved around sharing domestic experiences to address the health, economic and social impacts of the pandemic.

It is not far the time where few years ago many Arab intellectuals and medias, added to the socially and culturally diverse population of disciples of the Karakariya, were speculating that the Zawiyah will reach an unprecedented international radiation thanks to the unique practices it upholds, which take the disciple to its Lord through witnessing the Real and being kind to the creation. Today, the facts are here to confirm these speculations. The number of Muslims, from every corner of the planet joining the Zawiyah, increases every day, to reach lately at least seventy individuals a week. They all took from the headquarters of the Zawiyah in Al-Arwi (Morocco) a destination to get to know their Lord (maarifat Allah) in the station of Ihsan, the fourth pillar of the Kingdom represented through Junaidi Sunni Sufism.

We also note that on Saturday 30th of this month, AFRIQUE AU SOMMET will be holding a live broadcasted talk, presented by the President of the African Prize Foundation, Nasrallah Belkhayat, and sponsored by Mr. Jerry Rawlings John, former President of the Republic of Ghana, untitled “What is the importance of the role that spiritual intelligence plays in Africa”. The talk will be hosting a handful of Karakari disciples who will answer this question. Thanks to the innumerous initiatives the disciples of the Zawiyah undertook during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, these disciples will briefly present the social and humanitarian role that the schools of spiritual education play in the African context.
