Humanitarian Initiative in Brazil

During the covid-19 pandemic, the Zawiya Karkariya, from its headquarters in the city of al-Araouit, near Nador in Morocco, played an important role in humanitarian actions and initiatives, which were implemented by its disciples around the world.

In fact, during this time of pandemic, several international humanitarian initiatives were carried out. In Africa, the Karkariya disciples were active in quite a few countries such as Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal and Togo, where they, for instance, planted 1,000 fruit trees, built wells and distributed food to deprived families badly hit by the pandemic. Similarly, in the Asian continent, the disciples carried out several more initiatives in several countries notably the Philippines, Nepal and India. On the other hand, the Caribbean Karkaris shined through an unprecedented initiative, in which they distributed food supplies to impoverished Muslim families from the island.

Indeed, the representative of the Zawiyah Karkariya in Brazil, Thomaz Almeida, distributed 600 kg (over 1300 pounds) of food rations to the needy at Ubirajara, a Brazilian municipality in the state of São Paulo. The families who benefited from this charitable initiative expressed their gratitude towards the Zawiyah Karkariya, its Sheikh Sidi Mohamed Fawzi Karkari QS, and His disciples.

It should be noted that Islam, in recent years, continues to spread exponentially in Brazil. And one of the reasons why we see such advancement of Islam in this beautiful land is the nature of our religion that encourages social solidarity and human compassion. And, these values are concretely put into practice by charitable Muslim organizations in the South American country.

And the Zawiyah Karkariya is not an exception, since since the beginning of the pandemic, Karkariya disciples around the world implemented multiple charitable initiatives, which were executed in parallel with multiple other domestic initiatives in Morocco, some of which we highlighted in our social network pages.
