A Well in Honor of the Shaykh in Cameroon
After completing digging a well in Togo, the Tariqa has finished digging another well in Cameroon, in the village of Shehia, to benefit around 2300 villagers. By Allah mercy, it was inaugurated yesterday on May 1st by the members of the tribe.
The Shaykh defines the litany (or wird in Arabic, which literally means a “watering hole”) as follows:
“The litany (wird) is a flow of light that extends from the heart of the Shaykh to the heart of the disciple, by which the Shaykh draws the disciple to a pure, transcendent presence. It is thus the rope that is grasped in order to bring down the spiritual being of the disciple to be watered from the fresh well waters of the Shaykh.”
May we all quench our thirst through the Shaykh’s blessed well waters throughout this blessed month! Ramadan Karim!
